So I now have an 'official' logo for my business - thanks to my good friend and design guru David Seadon for doing a stellar job. I highly recommend you check out his website - http://www.designbydave.co/
Why the lighthouse? My initial concept for the logo was inspired by a very charming lighthouse situated in Mumbles at one of my favourite places to go in Swansea called 'Bracelet Bay'. Built in 1794, the Mumbles Lighthouse can be seen from any point along the five mile sweep of Swansea Bay.
Whilst growing up in Swansea as a child and now as a young adult, the Mumbles Lighthouse has always been a setting of particular nostalgic value to me. It's a place I go to 'recharge my batteries' - a place to meet close friends, find creative inspiration and most importantly... drink great coffee! As a creative individual, I have always been drawn to the coast and count myself very fortunate to live in an area that hosts some of the UK's finest seaside spots.
As well as being a place I love to visit - I also admire the significance and purpose that lighthouse landmarks share in practise. For over 200 years the Mumbles Lighthouse has guided vessels along the coast and into Swansea Bay, which I think is an extraordinary triumph and a very valuable contributor to Swansea's heritage. Pointing out the obvious, it acts as a light in the darkness and is a valuable figure of strength and safety - a sentiment that best reflects the work I peruse and create, where I endeavour to produce content that is bold -- standing out for all the right reasons. People are my passion and I am constantly inspired by our capability in doing extraordinary things - to capture these efforts in original and innovative ways is what I do best!
In a rather large nutshell, that explains my idea behind the logo design and gives a flavoursome sense of how I engage with my creative activities.
